Their core function is to prevent sparks and high temperatures generated during motor operation from triggering explosions in the environment through structural design. This ensures the safe operation of equipment in hazardous scenarios.

The design of an explosion-proof pump involves both explosion-proof motor + explosion-proof pump. The explosion-proof motor is the core foundation, and the pump casing cannot use standard models. Standard pump casings have joints and shaft end sealing structures that are not designed to be explosion-proof. Take pumping gasoline, for instance. In a regular pump, the impeller rubbing against the casing can spark. Or the shaft seal might leak-letting flammable/explosive stuff touch the motor. Even if you pair an explosion-proof motor with that regular pump, the pump's flaws mess up the explosion-proof setup. It won't work in risky areas.

Therefore, the pump body of explosion-proof pumps needs particular handling. For example, using an integrally cast housing to reduce gaps; equipping it with explosion-proof mechanical seals to prevent medium leakage; in some scenarios, a pressure relief structure must also be installed in the pump body to avoid danger caused by excessive pressure inside the pump medium. Secondly, the motor and the pump must form a 'coordinated explosion-proof' system. In addition to their respective explosion-proof designs, the connection points between the motor and the pump body must also comply with explosion-proof standards. For instance, when using a flange connection, an explosion-proof gasket should be used to prevent medium leakage from the connection; the coaxiality of the motor shaft and pump shaft must be strictly controlled to reduce seal failure or heat generation due to friction caused by vibration.

The realization of the explosion proof Pump motor performance relies on three key structures: First, the housing is made of high-strength alloy material, subjected to integral die-casting and explosion-proof sealing treatment. This confines internal sparks and high temperatures within the housing, preventing contact with external flammable or explosive substances. Secondly, the junction box features an explosion-proof design with explosion-proof sealing rings at the interfaces. This stops sparks from getting out if electrical connections are bad. Third, bearings are made of heat-resistant ceramic or alloy, put together with high-precision methods. This cuts down on friction heat, keeps local temps from going over limits, and stops possible dangers.
