Features of explosion-proof motors

Mar 25, 2024 Leave a message

Flameproof motors use flameproof housings to isolate electrical parts that can generate sparks, arcs, and dangerous temperatures from the surrounding explosive gas mixture. However, the enclosure is not hermetically sealed, and the surrounding explosive gas mixture can enter the motor through the gaps in the joint surfaces of the various parts of the enclosure. Explosions may occur when in contact with ignition sources such as sparks, arcs, and dangerous high temperatures in the housing, and the flames or red-hot gases of the motor will not be damaged or deformed, but the explosive gas mixture around the motor will not be ignited when the explosive flame or red-hot gas is transmitted through the gap between the joint surfaces.

Its main features are as follows:
(1) The correspondence between the power level, installation size and speed is consistent with the DIN42673, and at the same time, taking into account the inheritance with the YB series and the interchangeability of the Y2 series, necessary adjustments have been made to make it more effective and applicable.
(2) The whole series adopts F-class insulation, and the temperature rise is assessed according to B-class.
(3) The noise limit is lower than that of YB series, close to the class I noise of YB series, and the vibration limit is comparable to that of YB series.
(4) The enclosure protection level is increased to IP55.
(5) The whole series is made of low-noise deep groove ball bearings, and the motor with a center height of more than 180mm is equipped with an oil injection and discharge device.
(6) There are two kinds of motor heat sinks: parallel horizontal distribution and radiation distribution, and the parallel horizontal distribution is the main one.
(7) The main performance indicators reached the international advanced level in the early 90s of the 20th century.
