Please allow me to get your attention. There is a picture on the left which shows all the basic parts. They make up a squirrel cage rotor induction motor. These parts work together to ensure the smooth running of a highly efficient electrical motor. I will give a detailed explanation on each part in the following article for your better understanding of the product. 

 

 

Stator 
Stator doesn't move or rotate. It is made up of pmake up the stator in a rotor induction motorarts 1, 2 and 8 :
Part 1 is the supporting structure of the whole motor. It is made of iron, steel, die-cast aluminium. They make the stator resistant to corrosion.
Part 2 is constructed with silicone steel plates which forms the motor windings.
Part 8, the three-phase windings forms a balanced three-phase system when it is connected to power supply.

 

Rotor
The rotor is a moving part in an asynchronous induction motor. The function of it to output torque. The rotor interacts with the stator to generate a torque output. The interaction between the windings and magnetic fields produces a torque around the shaft. 
There is a set of non-insulated bars. They are interconnected by short-circuit rings. When the stator is energized, the windings generate a rotating magnetic field. A certain strength of magnetic field will move relative to the closed metal circuit. The closed metal circuit will generate current. This rotating magnetic field will cut the windings inside the rotor, so there will be current. The current inside the rotor will be pulled by the field, thus generating a rotating torque which makes the rotor rotate.

Part 7 is the shaft. It transmits the mechanical output.
Part 3, the laminated magnetic core, has the same characteristics as the stator laminations.
Part 12, the rotor bars and short circuit rings, is aluminium casted as one piece. It enables the rotation of the motor.

 

Other Parts of The Motor

4 – End Shields, to protect the motor from dirt and water

5 – Fan, for cooling motor as there is heat when the motor runs

6 – Fan Cover, to protect the fan from breaking down

9 – Terminal Box, the place where all the wires are connected

10 – Motor terminals

11 – Bearings, a necessary part to enable the rotation of the shaft.
