Structural Components Of Lv Induction Motor
Stator part:
Stator core: It is made of laminated silicon steel sheets to reduce eddy current loss. Silicon steel sheets are an iron-silicon alloy with a silicon content of about 0.5%-4.5%. They have the characteristics of high magnetic permeability and low iron loss. They can effectively guide the magnetic field and concentrate the magnetic field around the stator winding.
Stator winding: It is a three-phase winding, usually wound in the slots of the stator core with insulated copper wire. The three-phase windings are 120° electrical angle apart from each other in space. When the three-phase AC current passes through, a rotating magnetic field can be generated. There are two ways to connect the winding: star (Y) connection and triangle (△) connection. The connection method will affect the voltage, current and power performance of the motor.
Rotor part:
Squirrel cage rotor: It is the most common rotor structure. Copper or aluminum bars are inserted into the rotor core slots, and short-circuit rings are connected at both ends, which looks like a squirrel cage. This rotor structure is simple, strong, low-cost, good starting performance, and reliable operation.
Wire-wound rotor: It has three-phase windings and is connected to the external circuit through slip rings and brushes. This rotor structure is relatively complex and costly, but by connecting a resistor to the rotor winding, the starting and speed regulation performance of the motor can be improved.
